7 Picks of Ultra Violet: Pantone's Color of the Year 2018
In December, Pantone announced their choice for Color of the Year for 2018. Drumroll please...
And the lucky winner is a purple shade called Ultra Violet 18-3838.
Purple has always been associated with power, and this bold hue is no exception. This shade certainly packs the punch. Pantone's picks always end up shaping the color palettes for the next year, and I expect this year to be no different. For those of you who love wearing color, pieces in Ultra Violet would make a great addition to your wardrobes in 2018. Perhaps I'm biased though, as this shade is the color of my alma mater, the University of Washington (Go Huskies!).
I have gone through Zalando (my latest obsession) and picked out some of my favorite pieces in shades similar to Ultra Violet. FYI they're in no particular order. All images below are straight from Zalando.
Before I start, might I suggest MAC Heroine lipstick to match? It looks beautiful on a wide variety of skin tones.
Ultra Violet Picks From Zalando
1) New Look TODDLER high heeled sandals at only £27.99
These sparkly beauties do just as Pantone wants its color of the year to do...make you think of galaxies far away. I am forever a block heel kinda girl, and I love the 1940s style strap these heeled sandals from New Look have. And under £30? I think the choice is easy.
2) Lauren Ralph Lauren shift dress at £107.99
This dress is office appropriate and can be dressed up or down to suit your needs. It is draped in an elegant fashion that will flatter your body by emphasizing your bust and waist. Its 3/4 length sleeve means that you can wear it year round to get your money's worth!
3) Cosabella NEVER SAY NEVER CUTIE thong at £18.99
Who doesn't like to spice things up from time to time? With these lace knickers, you will radiate confidence whether or not you choose to show a special someone or keep it your little secret. Again, this color is flattering on multiple skin tones.
4) Steve Madden SLAMMIN high heeled boots at £144.99
We are all familiar with the rage of the Balanciaga thigh high sock boots this year. While I'm honestly not a fan of the original because I think they are far too exaggerated and pointy, making them look too much like a poulaine for my taste. That being said, I think these are a great dupe for all of you. In fact, I like these much better than the original because they are more rounded and at a savings of over 1k, it's really a no brainer.
5) Mango ADELA day dress at £49.99
I think this is a really beautiful floral dress perfect for Spring. With it being so cold of late is hard to imagine Spring, but yes, Spring! I think it would even look cute layered with some knits and tights in the meantime. This is perhaps my favorite of my selections.
6) River Island Sandals at only £28.79 --currently 40% off!
How fun are these? Perfect for a night out with its satiny finish and glam buckle. Or just to look fab during the day, whichever you prefer. All I know is, these make a great statement--especially for the price!
7) Sportmax Code ARMONY jumper at £169.99
This knit is personally over my budget, but I couldn't resist including it for all of you who can afford it. It looks so perfectly cozy and would look great styled with metallic booties. Love love love.
