New Years Look Sans the Sparkles
The cliche of New Years Eve is always S P A R K L E S, SPARKLES, and more sparkles. While glitter may be fun every once in awhile, it certainly isn't for everyone. I've created a look for the last night of the year without all the shimmery fuss.
I chose this dress from Topshop in my favorite color. I chose it because of its modern twist on 1940s glamor. I wore it with my favorite heels at the moment, these gorgeous red pumps from VInce Camuto. To top it all off, I wore this beautiful white vintage cropped coat from the 1950s.
This shade of blue-grey will look flattering on any skin tone and the cut of the dress really brings out your curves--in the right places. It's super chic and sophisticated, but its slight asymmetrical hem makes it young and fun. Best of all, it's on sale for only £18 right now or $33 at Nordstrom for those in the US. Bonus? It's available in Tall sizes (for even cheaper! Yay!) for all you taller gals out there. This dress is purely effortless glam. All you need to do is slip it on and VOILA!
I selected this winter white cropped vintage coat because of it has sequins on the collar. This added a very subtle element of bling up close perfect for New Years without having the overall look show any sparkles. It also dressed up the outfit adding extra elegance.
All in all, this outfit is easy, elegant, and comfortable. Perfect for any New Years party. The bonus? You can rewear this Topshop dress all year round without any problems--a feat much harder to accomplish with a full on sequined or glitter dress.
Hope you all have a very happy and safe New Year! What are your NYE plans?
