The Best Tweed Pieces to Add to Your Wardrobe This Spring
Today I want to talk to you about my latest obsession—tweed. Tweed is a fabric that I usually think about being worn mostly in Autumn/Winter, however, I've come to love it for spring. You've probably seen photos of me wearing my favorite skirt from Zara with a pink jumper on my Instagram.
While the pictures were taken while it was snowing, I think the look will work great for the coming months too. Because this jumper is a lovely bright shade of pink, it makes the outfit also work well in spring. The weather is finally starting to warm up here in Newcastle, but it still is chilly. So I've resigned myself to wearing jumpers in pastel colors as a compromise and this outfit certainly fits the bill. This gorgeous skirt from Zara is unfortunately completely sold out because it is from awhile ago, but below are my favorite options on high street right now. If you can find a vintage piece—even better!
1) H&M White & Black Tweed
I fell in love with this suit when I tried it on. The blazer is unfortunately sold out in my size or I would have totally gotten this. The one I'm wearing is a size too big and in the correct size it would look more fitted. However the good news for you all is that there are still plenty of other sizes still available. I love this suit because it is inexpensive and has a classic cut that will never go out of style. It will also be easy to dress up or down. It would look super cute with a tee underneath and worn with loafers on the weekend for a chic yet laid back look. Fingers crossed it comes back in my size!

2) Mango Blue & White Tweed
This poorly lit dressing room photo does not do this suit justice. In real life, it is much more brighter blue rather than the dark navy (almost black) it looks like in the picture. What I love about this pick is that it's unique. I love how the jacket is longer for a 90s feel. It would be great to wear with a tshirt and skinny jeans on cooler days when you still want to make a statement. I like how it has a slightly fringed hem to it to add interest without the detail being over the top. The geometric pattern is also more striking than what I feel is usual in other tweed pieces. In this you would look smart yet bold.

3) Asos Blue Tweed Wrap Dress
I have ordered this dress on Asos but it hasn't arrived yet for me to see the quality in person. But I'm loving how it looks online. It's a perfect mix between looking chic yet playful—what I strive for whenever I get dressed. Blue is my favorite color so I love how this check fabric has those bright blue tones in it. I also love the button details. And a wrap dress is always so flattering. I am excited to wear a vintage blouse underneath this for some 70s vibes (my favorite). Bonus, this is a piece that is bright enough for spring but can easily be worn all year round to get the most bang for your buck.

4) Pull & Bear Blue & Purple
Tweed Matching Coord Set
This is definitely on my wishlist for spring. I love the soft pastel hues—which is SS18's hottest trend. Again, a lovely yet simple fringe adds interest to this outfit without being tacky. The cut of the top is definitely reminiscent of the 60s while the skirt gives it that modern touch. And perhaps the best thing about this matching set is the fact that you can mix and match to create multiple outfits! Pair the top with skinny jeans on the weekend or some black high-waisted belted trousers. Pair the skirt with a blouse to dress it up or a tshirt and trainers to dress it down.

5) Zara Off-White Tweed Suit
We all know Chanel is iconic for their classic tweed suit designs. However, most of us (sadly) cannot afford Chanel. This suit looks to be the next best thing this spring for those of us who can't buy the real deal. This is high up there on my SS18 wishlist. This suit is so classy and elegant and its off-white color is perfect for spring and summer. This looks expensive and will always be in style. You can't go wrong with this look, really.
So there are my top tweed picks for spring. Which one is your favorite?
