How to Style Your Denim Jumpsuit in Autumn
You’ve probably noticed that the weather has been acting pretty bipolar of late. Last week, we had Storm Ali and its strong winds. This week, it’s a forecast of sunshine. How do you dress for in-between weather that can’t seem to make up its mind? And how can you maximize your cost-per-wear for items in your summer wardrobe that you just bought 1-2 months ago? The trick is to repurpose some key summer pieces sitting in your closet such as your denim jumpsuit.
When I visited my family in Seattle, we took a ferry to Port Townsend. It is my favorite thing to do when in the PNW, but the breezy sea air gets quite chilly. However, I refused to delve into my winter wardrobe—partially because it sat in vacuum-seal bags back in the UK.
Styling my denim jumpsuit in Autumn
I decided to layer a black cashmere jumper underneath this white denim jumpsuit. Even though the jumper was lightweight, the cashmere material kept me very cozy. I wore ankle socks and my beloved gold vans. Because the rest of my outfit was simple, I grabbed my vintage Gucci bag for a statement. The result of this combo: the perfect outfit to transition my style into Autumn.
More styling ideas:
For a Seventies-inspired style: opt for a turtleneck and layer with a shearling coat. Add a pair of platform boots and you’re good to go. To stay on trend, try a snake print bootie.
For a professional look for work: wear a pussy-bow blouse underneath and a pair of heels.
For a casual weekend look: wear a t-shirt underneath and wear a chunky knit cardigan over it. Wear with your favorite pair of trainers and a bum bag.
