The Shirtdress—Getting Dressed in 5 Minutes
This is a post written for all the procrastinators (myself included) out there. I’m a person who likes to sleep in as much as possible. In fact, I can’t properly function without 9 hours of sleep in the night. Living in the busy 21st century, that doesn’t happen most of the time. So what I try to do is to cut down my time getting ready in the morning as much as possible so I can sleep in that extra half hour. One great solution this summer to help get ready quickly while still looking professional and put together is the magic shirtdress.
Getting dressed in this outfit took only a couple of minutes. And I think it’s a great look for the office or even for the weekend when paired with trainers like how I styled it. It’s the perfect go-to outfit when you’re in a rush but need to look put together. Imagine getting ready for your morning meeting barely having to think about what to wear.
Shirt dresses are also perfect for this time of year when the weather is a bit in between. They offer more coverage than a sundress, but you still feel like you’re wearing something fit for this time of year.
My Shirtdress Outfit Details
Because I live up in the most Northern part of England, where it doesn’t get nearly as warm, I have really been getting into midi length skirts and dresses in the last two years. I feel like the classic shirtdress is usually white and so I liked how this one was black making a bit different but still keeping a classic look. I wanted to go for a dressed up casual look so I wore it with my white canvas trainers but then wore bright lipstick and gold accessories to glam it up a bit. Then to make the look a little fun, I added a yellow bag for a pop of colour.
